According to the Horror Marathon website there are three choices for premiers. What do you preferred? Here they are.

Tokyo Gore Police This one is now screening in New York City movie theaters.

Now for my two euros Martyrs or Tokyo Gore Police would be fine for me. Donkey Punch looks like that crappy Turistas flick.

Any of these would probably be good. I'd vote for Tokyo Gore Police, Martyrs, then Donkey Punch based on the trailers and marathon atmospohere. TGP is probably not the best of the 3 but might be the most fun.

I'll be seeing both Tokyo Gore Police and Donkey Punch out here at our annual genre film festival type thing. It's a week after the Ohio marathon, so I'll let you guys know what you missed if you don't get either one. Or if you do screen them, you guys can let me know if I should run for the hills and check out something else instead.

Oh by the way, Tim. They just announced special guest Adrienne King will be appearing for the Friday night screening of Friday the 13th, so nanny nanny boo boo. :P

These potential premieres were announced on the official Marathon e-mail announcement as well. I'd love to see any of them, but if I had to pick one, I would go for Martyrs, because the French have been absolutely kicking *** with their horror films lately. It's true, the French are actually good for something!

1 - Martyrs
I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this film. I've been waiting for a chance to see this as well as Let the Right One In. Getting to see both at the same event would be awesome.

2 - Tokyo Gore Police
Loved Machine Girl, and I always enjoy some fun splatter.

3 - Donkey Punch
Seen it; Hated it. Firstly the title mislead me to expect some kind of gore-filled sex-comedy romp. Secondly, none of the characters made me care whether or not they got killed. They would either be annoyingly immature, or just plain stupid. I can't remember ever being more bored by a horror flick than I was during Donkey Punch. Then again, maybe it's just not my kinda flick. I might find some merit in it the second time around.
Hmm... I wonder if I could make it to waffle house and back in an hour and a half.....

I have seen all three. They played Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. Donkey Punch has a few good moments, but overall is pretty mediocre. Tokyo Gore Police is exactly what it looks like. Good, fun over-the-top gore and crazy characters. If you liked Machine Girl, you should love Tokyo Gore Police. If only one premiere can be shown between the three possibilities, it should be Martyrs without a doubt. People will either love it or hate it, but they will definitely be talking about it afterward. It is creepy, gory and thought provoking.

When will they finally let us know what will be showing?

Tokyo Gore Police gets my vote.

Tokyo Gore Police and Martyrs are ok with me. I know most people don't like to "read" movies. Then Hollywood horror flicks have been lackluster in the past five years. Either that or another screening of Freaks. Like Freaks but seen it too many times.

Tokyo Gore Police looks like alot of fun and gets my vote.

Donky Punch looks like crap and if we get it, I guess I'll be getting a little sleep at this marathon.

Martyrs looks pretty good.

Whichever is the most fun and will keep the night moving is my vote. Seems like that would be Tokyo Gore Police. Even though I hate subtitles and Japanese Horror as much as the next guy, as well as the fact that it is is longer it doesn't seem that it will have the sluggish depressing pace of Martyrs, which may be good in a different format. Donkey Punch seems to be getting a lot of NO votes so...

Although they have subtitles, that should not scare you away from Martyrs or Tokyo Gore Police. You could watch Tokyo Gore Police with the sound off practically and it would be gory fun. As for Martyrs, it relies on suspense, visceral moments of torture and not so much on words. Any word yet on when they will announce the premiere choice? It is less than a week away so I would think a decision would have to almost be made by now.

Considering that distributors have been known to change what films are available to Bruce and Joe with less than 24 hours notice, you might be surprised.

This is true. I just hope that Cannibal Ferox will make it. I just want to see this movie with an audience as well as Meet The Feebles.

Since Tokyo Gore Police is playing in theaters now, I bet that this movie will be pick. Mark my words.

My bet is that they won't announce it until we are actually in the auditorium waiting for the marathon to start.
