I would like to thank David Nedrow for rennovating the Grandview Theater. For him allowing us Marathonoids to have not just a 14 hours horror thon but a 24 hours one. Please treat him his staff and the theater with up most respect. He spends alot of money updating the theater. Please lurkers (The people who just browse the message borad.) treat the seats with care. These are new seats. He is awllowing us to be there.

The best thanks anyone can give, I feel ...

1. Be kind to the theater
2. Be kind to the manager
3. See films there whenever they take your fancy

The best support you can give is your continued patronage.

Dave's been a good friend for a very long time, and I know he's committed to making the Grandview a place where people can get a truly quality cinema presentation.

That said, as far as the Marathon goes, remember that this has been a major renovation, so there may still be some rough edges.

Let the event coordinators know if things are problematic or uncomfortable, and if comment cards are distributed, be honest (and constructive) in your criticism.

That, and enjoy yourselves ... that's really the whole point. :)

I picked up my tickets on Friday. Ran into Joe and tagged along for a quick tour.

I need to check the blog, I'm sure some of this is already there, but I have to say I was impressed by what has been done so far. Mostly the bathrooms. He extended them out into the lobby a bit, so it will be a bit smaller, but the tradeoff is we won't have to swap bathrooms anymore. Though I did tell Dave I will have to be careful, because I will likely head that way by default. Anyhow, men's room now has 4 urinals and a stall. Women's has four stalls.

The concession stand was supposed to be built this weekend. All the seats were on their sides and in the middle of the theater, so I haven't seen the new seat bottoms and backs. It looks like a ton of work, but having had my house built, I know that the chaos can be deceptive. This is going to be a real nice venue for us.
