Anyone else planning on seeing the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie this weekend?

As with so many movies, I'd love to see it this weekend, but I have no sitter. I used up a lot of favors getting coverage for the Marathon, and with Iron Man 2 out next weekend...

Yeah, it just isn't going to happen.

Well We can include Nightmare on elm street on the ever growing list of failed remakes. I honestly had high hopes for this remake because of the talent of Jackie Earl Haley but even he could not save this movie. Try to imagine everything fun about the original movie and than remove it and this movie is what your left with.

I liked it better than "Freddy's Revenge" and "New Nightmare".

I agree but The original Nightmare and part 3 are still the best

How could someone like you NOT like The Dream Warriors?

Especially with THIS over the end credits...

I contemplated seeing the remake, but like Mr. Einhorn, with a family I need to prioritize. So with nothing but bad reviews and that one movie from that guy who wrote Swingers on the horizon...well, there you go...

you didnt read my post correctly. My two favorites are The original Nightmare and part 3. The rest are lame. And DOKKEN doing the theme song was the icing on the cake...What a great song

Actually, I did understand you, I just did a poor job of expressing it, sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was "Of course" you liked part 3...

I do think that is the best sequel. However, I noticed the last time I watched them that the Freddy movies have become quite dated, moreso than any other classic horror series or standalone film.

Oh I see!! Sometimes things get lost in translation on a forum. I agree the Freddy movies just dont hold up next to Jason, Michael and Pinhead!

I'll probably wait until this comes to DVd to check it out.

My favorites are also the original and part 3, but I also like part 4, mainly because of the climactic showdown between Alice and Freddy.

I mean c'mon, you gotta love the build up to their confrontation...

If the van is a'rockin it must not be Dokken...

I liked the Vinnie Vincent Invasion song for part 4 better "It's that time of Year" If only to see Vinnie play leads with Freddies Glove on..

I saw the remake Sat..One thing they got right was the slow pace but unlike the original they never set a mood that made up for slow pacing..and to much damn CGI (and I am shocked why?lol)

part 4 had some really great music. I think my favorite song form that movie was this ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvIYJ8J_noA

Although the song in the movie was done by Dramarama, not Buck Cherry. The Dramarama version is better ...

Then again, Storm Large does a great version also ...
