Has anyone seen Apollo 18, Shark Night, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Creature, or Contagion yet? I'm sure Contagion is fine, but are the other titles as bad as the reviews say (horror rarely gets a fair shake)? I'm dying for some genre movies and might take a plunge and see some of these anyway. Just wondering.

I have three young children and don't get out to the theater as much as I want to anymore. So most small release films with bad reviews go right to my low priority bin. However, my two older sons for some reason were excited to see Apollo 18. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is garbage, but it is all "been there done that," "quiet...quiet...quiet...LOUD NOISE!" and extremely anti-climactic.

I highly recommend Attack the Block if it's playing in your neck of the woods and I can also recommend Rise of the Planet of the Apes ,although I usually don't trust anything that contains "of the" twice.
