I have just discovered that our esteemed potentate has been lax in his announcements. (That, or I wasn't listening and totally missed this.)

In looking over the schedule of the Playdates for the Kino International re-release of Metropolis, I find that it's actually scheduled to be in Columbus at the Wexner Center, August 6th-7th.

Apologies if this was mentioned sometime during the Marathon, or elsewhere here. I know it's early, but I have a feeling this is going to be well worth putting on the calendar.

25 minutes of previously lost footage and a full re-cut to the original scene order, this is the closest to the Fritz Lang original that has ever been shown on the big screen.

Here's hoping people can take the chance to see this landmark of science-fiction cinema in all its glory. :)

I know it's "wrong" but I still like the Moroder version of Metropolis...

firstly and offtopic: i'm usually on the boston sci fi board which is currently down and in need of a new disc drive (the authorities suspect foul play). in need of a fix i have jumped on board the ohio board and hope others from boston will join.

on topic: i've seen metropolis 3 times. initially i said not interested. but a digital remaster withthe original score has me sitting on the fence. has anyone seen it?

First, welcome. Sorry to hear you guys are having server issues. Make yoursefl at home. Activity has been a bit spotty. I get on most days to update the countdowns, but with camping trips even I have been inconsistent of late.

Second, haven't seen the newest version, but would like to get around to it at some point.
