As part of our new midnight movie series, we will be showing IFC Midnight's BLACK HEAVEN. Showtimes are midnight Dec 3 & 4. Described as “stylized cyber-goth noir”, director Gilles Marchand’s BLACK HEAVEN tells the story of Gaspard, who plays an online game to escape his troubles. In the game he encounters an avatar called Sam, who may be playing a deadlier game than Gaspard. Joe Utichi, of Moviefone, says that BLACK HEAVEN “...[is] a smart and engaging look at internet culture and the pressures, lies and intoxication of a virtual world.” Alternating between reality and the artificial world of the game, the film is full of twists, with an ending you don’t expect. |
