I heard a rumor that the Bexley Drexel will be closing soon. Is this true?

Hopefully something can be done to save it.

I try to get up there when I can, but I just don't get out to the mnovies very much. I do take Sergei up in the summer for the Kid's series.

I honestly and truly hope and pray Jeff can find a way to keep the Drexel open but if indeed the Drexel must close I hope it's not the end of the marathons.

This would be truly heartbreaking if this happened. Columbus needs the Drexel. I don't live in Columbus but I recommend everyone going there as often as possible and bring a friend who's never been there. Heartless multiplexes serve a purpose but they have no character. Anytime I've ever taken someone to the Drexel (or any arthouse/independent theater) they've always enjoyed it more than some AMC theater. They almost always return. Unfortunately, most people just don't even look at the smaller ads in the paper. Just remember to buy something from the concession stand.

If there was a fundraiser I'd contribute some money. I don't have a lot to give but I would certainly help however I can. Let's follow this one closely.

I was heartbroken when the Drexel North closed down. I was at a lot of "Night of the Living Drexel" and "It came from the Drexel North" marathons. I still have a couple "Night of the Living Bread" action figures, in the bags! I did not throw mine.

The marathons continued after the Drexel North closed. They continued at the Riff Center and the Continent. It was never as cool at these places though.

I have never been to the Bexley Drexel. I have been to the Grandview. Thats were the re-started Horror Marathon is going to be right?

And the Sci-fi has been at the Bexley Drexel for quite a while now?

We've only had two Scifi marathons at the East (as I will always think of it.) And one horror.

The Grandview is wehere a number of them have been held in recent years, but the Grandview is no longer managed by the Drexel folks. I don't have time to go into that, but if you look through the board, you can find links and possibly the stories themselves.
