Yea lol i got a kick out of her going up to anyone that seemed to be "under the influence of small pieces of paper" and just messing with them in character...

If i recall right did she not say she was from the beechwald area where The Drexel North was?

1. Jennifer (Carrie rip-off)
2. The Exorcist (even though I've watched this a 1,000 times, it would be
nice to see it on the big screen)
3. It's Alive (pure good fun)
4. The Beast Within (creepy possession film)
5. I Spit On Your Grave
6. Demons
7. Freaks
8. Midnight Offerings (although this was a made for tv movie, it was
really good, about two witches who battle it out. Stars Melissa Sue
Anderson as the bad witch, you know her from Little House on the
Prarie, and Mary Beth McDonough as the good witch, you know her
from The Waltons. Good made for tv movie.)
9. Sisters (DePalma movie with Margot Kidder)
10.Salems Lot
11. Dawn of the Dead (the new version)

12. Surprise me with something I haven't seen but will enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

In no particular order. May be a little to slow-paced for a marathon, but it could be worse

Halloween
Trick or Treat
Black Sunday
Rock and Roll Nightmare
The Beyond
Horror of Dracula
The Old Dark House
Don't Look Now (if only for scary ass Sutherland, err, ass)
The Haunting (1963)
Tombs of the Blind Dead
Masque of Red Death
The Fog
Pieces

Curse Of The Demon

I love me some "Curse of the Demon" as an understated masterpeice of the genre but "The Car"...Hellz YEAH! It's the apotheosis of both the "car from hell" micro-genre and James Brolin's career.

This film could a great addition to a marathon. On a somewhat similar note (southwestern USA nercromantic auto chases), "Race with the Devil" would be great, too.

Thanks, Usinoh. Although I've been lurking on the marathon forum since it was at studio 35, occasionally popping up to recommend films, I don't think we've met. My gf and I went to every marathon when I was in Columbus for law school a OSU from 2002-05, but haven't made any since moving back east. Work permitting, we really hope to fly back for this one.

I never saw the Castle version of Old Dark House--to me, Whale's original is such a horrifically pitch-perfect, grotesque comedy of manners that it really cannot be topped...

But RnR Nightmare. Such genius. We rented that back in 2001 as undergrads, and then were so amazed by it, we showed it to my gf's housemates. They then showed it to their friends. Within 24 hours, about 30 people came down to the house to watch the genius of Thor (particularly the last epic puppet v. thor battle sequence). We then offered the video store 35 bucks to buy it; he refused.

I just discovered the glory of ROCK AND ROLL NIGHTMARE last year. It is, indeed, a ton of fun.

As for MOTHER OF TEARS: only show that if you want Argento fans to cry. Wow, was it bad.

I'm an Argento fan and thought the movie was fine. It was gory, fast-paced (for him), insane, and stylish. Not his best work, but easily the best movie he's made since The Stendahl Syndrome. You want fans to cry, show them his Phantom of the Opera.

I've never understood the hatred for this film. It doesn't make sense, the acting is terrible, the ending is rushed and goofy: how is this different from his "classics". None of his movies make much sense and they all have terrible acting. What were these people expecting?!!! It had good cinematography (though it could have been more stylish) and a good score. Seriously, why is this a steaming pile, but Suspiria, Inferno, and Phenomena considered classics by the same people? There's a lot of hatin' going on here.
