Hello everyone! I've lived in Cleveland since 2000 and I just found out about this event. I wish I knew about it sooner. Does anyone know if they have confirmed dates for 2010 yet? I know it's probably at least 4-5 months away, but I like to plan early since I have other commitments that I may need to work around, etc. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks!

Hello SporterX and welcome to the marathon board. Historically the date is announced a month or 2 before the event but Bruce Bartoo, the marathon organizer, does his best to get the date out as fast as possible so keep coming to the board and look for up dates also you can send a PM to Bruce (bar2b2) and ask him to add you to the email list.

Thanks! I've pm'd a request to be added to the e-mail list and I'll keep checking the forums. I'm excited, last years looked awesome. I wish I knew about it and was able to attend.

I pull a date out of my, er I make a guess based on previous years. However, the SciFi has always been more fluid than the Horror, so take the countdown with a grain of salt.

Narrowing things down a bit...

The Academy Awards and the Drexel's Annual Oscar Party are March 7, so that weekend is out. Jeff needs some breathing room after that weekend, so probably not March 13-14 (Daylight Savings Time - 23 hour day) or 20-21 either. March 27-28 is a possibility. Does Palm Sunday weekend present a problem for anyone? April 3-4 is Easter weekend, so cross that off. April 10-11 is also a strong possibility. Personally, I'd prefer to have it no later than that, but....

So the most likely dates are March 27-28 or April 10-11. We'll try to nail things down soon and get an email out to the Marathoid email list when we do.

Either of those work great for me, and I have nothing on the calendar for either weekend which looks like it would block out other attendees en masse. If I hear of anything, I'll let you know.

For now, either one works.

Thank you for the insight, Bruce. As you know, the sooner we have a confirmed date, the easier it is for us folk who come from beyond the veil. It's nice to know that it is at the very least definitely happening.

In either case, it's still possible to get Kick-Ass as a premiere because that doesn't come out until mid April...

WIfe sometimes grumbles about Palm Sunday. I am worried a project at work might be going in March. They can't seem to set a date and it keeps moving back.

If it's gonna be a problem, just get her to renounce her faith or convert to something else. The Marathon takes precedence!
