HD-DVD? Your the one that have a HD DVD player. I just have a BLU RAY player like the rest of the early adopters of HD medium. You know that format is quite dead.

I bought HD-DVD also but I have sold all my HD-DVD's off and replaced most of them with Blu-Ray. I never picked up Galaxina but I had thought about it before the format died.

Some of us prefer to call the format "cheap" rather than "dead." ;)

I have a couple dozen HD-DVDs on the shelf, and my player still works fine. Personally, I prefer it over BluRay in a lot of ways, and lament its demise. Picked up what I have (after Toshiba gave up on the format) for $5-8 a pop ... not a deal to sneeze at. No reason to toss them aside as long as the equipment still works.

But then, I also have two Laserdisc players still sitting in the rack.

Damnit! I've been trying to avoid the website/forums but facebook was all GUESS WHO HAS A FANCY NEW WEBSITE!!

I WANT TO GO TO THE MARATHON!!!!

My friends wedding is in the 1 pm range. They are only having a cake and punch reception after. I'd imagine we could make it to the thon at like 5 or 6. Do you guys think it would be worth it? I know there's the halfthon but I don't really want to go that route. Plus, my friends would be in the other theater.

I'm sort of up for still coming but I worry there won't be seating. It's so much easier to settle in with the blankets and junk at the beginning.

Decisions decisions.

Also, Automatons made me want to cut out my eyes. Rollerball tried to do the same thing but I learned my lesson with Automatons and just went to sleep. Totally lost me at burning trees.

Absolutely. I showed up around 7 last year and still had a great time.

The marathon only comes around once a year, you'll regret it if you skip 18 hours that you could've showed up for. You'll still get a ton of movies and trailers and everything else.

I usually stay until noon myself, but lots of folks have no intention of staying late, and seats always open up long before midnight rolls around.

(Of course, last year I knew I would be late, so I just had a friend save that seat for me. I paid for it, so that should be fine.)

Just have someone save a seat for you if you want. Though last year it seemed like there were numerous empty seats to be found, so unless there's a big surge in attendance this year, seating won't be a problem.

(My friend who saved the seat for me said it was no trouble at all because our row was half empty anyways.

My usual marathon friend is out of town this year, so I'm going with a marathon virgin instead. If no one else will save a seat for you, we will.)

LOL! I knew I was gonna catch flak for that. I bought the HD-DVD copy of Galaxina while the format war was still going strong. I have replaced all my HD-DVDs with Blurays but there is no Galaxina on bluray :(.

I've have a personal rule. If a piece of technology is obsolete over a year and a half I get rid of it. Two exceptions to my personal rule, video game consoles and my DVHS deck. Reason is that I don't trust DVR's and DHVS cassettes are portable medium plus it is the only portable medium that can record HD TV broadcasts as I known of.
