Didn't The Thing (1982) screened at the First Shock Around the Clock? If so it is too soon in my opinion.

Read your according to your above quote about THE THING......and true Carpenter fan would never think it's to soon to Screen THE THING.

No, because Bruce can do no wrong

How do you explain the screenings of Automatons, that Matrix parody, Galaxina, and Starship Troopers 2?

For every film other than Automatons, at least some people in the audience enjoyed the film. :)

I liked Starship Troopers 2. It was what it was.

The statement that Bruce could do no wrong in his selection of movies. I was just making a point that some of his pass selections was not so great. Did anyone like that matrix parody?

Come on now. I think we've established that sometimes the marathon has to take what they can get. You can't blame the organizers for the quality of a film they show. In many cases they have not seen the premieres beforehand and are just going by its reputation. They can't always pick and choose from the cream of the crop. With premieres, you're taking a gamble. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. But it's usually interesting either way. I would rather they take a chance on something than play it safe and stay in the middle of the road. If they hadn't showed Automatons, for example, we wouldn't have had that hilarious audience experience. Let's be fair about this, that's all I'm saying.

I want this plastered on the fliers from here on out. Preferably with "WolfNC17 sez:" attached to it. Greatest blurb of all time!

Thanks Joe! I do believe it to be true though. If you don't like a film, blame the filmmakers. No one should expect the organizers to personally vouch for every film on the lineup. This is especially true with premieres, since in most cases no one involved has actually seen them. It's also worth noting that there are others involved behind the scenes besides Bruce and Joe. Holding them personally responsible for every film that shows is unreasonable. That's not to say that I've loved every single premiere, but I understand that they're trying to do the best they can, and sometimes they get what they get. Every premiere isn't going to be a future classic. We just have to deal with that and take the good with the bad.

Having said that, I fully expect Prometheus to be this year's premiere.

Clearly I'm being sarcastic. Or... am I?

All kidding aside, this would make an awesome premiere. Nazis on the Moon? With Udo Kier? How could that POSSIBLY go wrong? Right?

I already watch the trailer on Attack of the Show. It is in poor taste to screen a movie that celebrates Nazis. Killing Nazis fine.
