Don't forget about the surprise classic that Bruce is keeping under wraps until the thon too, that makes it a total of 6 films. So that leaves anywhere from 3 to 6 slots still open to be filled, seeing how the amount of films that we've had in the thon's history has been 9 at the least and 12 at the most. That depends of course on how long said films are and how much other material gets shown and such.
Hopefully more than 3 slots remaining. I think I enjoyed the Seattle shorts more than most folks did last year, but I'll admit that 9 features just seems a little short.
That's why I'm happy with Chopping Mall. The thing is shorter than an Ewok.
I just looked up the times on imdb:
2007 so far
King Dinosaur - 63 min
Chopping Mall - 77 min
Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster - 79 min
Mindwarp - 81 min
Slither - 95 min
2006 lineup
First On the Moon - 75 min
Westworld - 88 min
Invisible Boy - 90 min
Forbidden Planet - 98 min
The Crazies - 103 min
King Kong - 104 min
Serenity - 119 min
Godzilla Final Wars - 125 min
Batman - 126 min
plus 57 min of Max Headroom, those Seattle shorts (I forget how long, maybe about 45-60 minutes?), some Twilight Zone, and one long unedited interview with a nice old lady
Wow, looks like we're already way ahead of last year with respect to runtimes, so unless that surpise classic is the 4-hour version of Dune, I think we'll get more than 9 features this year.
