The 2005 Series is not a reboot of the Classic Series. Here's why.
All totally not the points I cared to make. You're absolutely correct, everything from 2005 on IS considered part of the continuity of the original series. Thus why I, y'know, pointed that out.
The only points I was caring to make were:
a) Telling people that Anthony Ainley is The Master in Series One is misleading, since most modern viewers think of Series One as 2005.
b) Telling people that Anthony Ainley is The Master in Seasons 1-26 is still misleading, since he's one of TWO Masters in that era, with Roger Delgado preceding him.
The point I'm making is, if you're going to refer someone to somewhere, make sure they get to the right place.
BTW, I never tried to imply that 2005+ is not considered part of the canon, but when the Producers of a show abandon their multi-episodic format, adopt arc stories per season, and THEY THEMSELVES CHANGE THE NUMBERING SEQUENCE - all after resurrecting a show from a nearly nine-year (16 to some purists) hiatus, I think it's fair to call it a "reboot".
And yes, I'm a Who Nerd. I admit it. I'm also a bigger fan of Roger Delgado than Anthony Ainley ... so NYAH!
The better point to be made - I'd STILL dig seeing "The Land That Time Forgot" at the Marathon. [EDIT: But the more that I think about it, I'd almost rather see "The Valley of Gwangi" instead. Just sayin']
Sunday semantics ... gotta love 'em.
